Accurate Fiber Loss Testing in the Field
The Fiber Optic Power Meter and LED Source Kit from Black Box provides a reliable solution for measuring optical power and signal loss in fiber optic cables, connectors, attenuators, and other passive components. Designed for field use, the kit helps technicians quickly verify network performance and troubleshoot fiber links with confidence.
The power meter is calibrated for 850 nm, 1300 nm, 1310 nm, and 1550 nm wavelengths and delivers accurate measurements from +20 dBm to -60 dBm with 0.01 dBm resolution. Fast response times provide near-instant readings, helping reduce testing time and improve productivity.
Zero-reference values are stored in non-volatile memory for all four wavelengths, allowing users to power down the meter between locations without losing settings. The meter also stores up to 999 test results per wavelength for later upload and analysis.
The included LED source provides stable, temperature-controlled output at 850 nm and 1300 nm, supporting continuous-wave and modulated testing modes for versatile fiber certification and troubleshooting.
Built for Rugged Environments
Both units feature durable aluminum housings with protective rubber bumpers to withstand everyday field use. A waterproof carrying case helps protect the equipment from moisture and harsh conditions, making the kit ideal for technicians working in demanding environments.
