To use 10-Gbps Ethernet in your fiber optic system, you need either a full-blown single-mode solution or OM3 50-/125-µm multimode cable. An OM3 system enables your new VCSEL laser-based hardware to work with the legacy LED-based hardware in your system. Additionally, an OM3 fiber optic solution gives you a simple migration path from 100 Mbps to 1 Gbps to 10 Gbps speeds. You can be confident you're installing a future-proof fiber cabling system!
